Fire Erupts at Hollywood Terr Apartments, Linden Firefighters Contain Blaze

Linden, NJ – At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Linden Police and Fire units responded to reports of a fire at the Hollywood Terr Apartments on the 600 block of Academy Terr.

Upon arrival, units encountered flames emanating from the windows on both floors of the apartment. Neighboring apartments were swiftly evacuated as firefighters initiated their efforts to control the blaze.

Linden Firefighters, with support from Union County Fire Mutual Aid, battled the 2-alarm fire for about 40 minutes, successfully containing it to a single apartment. One firefighter was treated on-scene for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was contacted to provide temporary housing for the displaced family. Academy Terr remains closed between N. Stiles St and Dewitt Terr.
