Investigation Underway for New Castle Avenue Shooting

NEW CASTLE, DE – Delaware State Police are actively investigating a shooting that transpired late Saturday night on New Castle Avenue. The incident, which took place on July 20 at around 10:53 PM, involved two Wilmington residents.

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old male were biking north on New Castle Avenue when the shooting occurred. Near the Spice N’ Nice Restaurant, the two crossed from the east to the west side of the road. During the crossing, the older teen was shot and subsequently fled on foot, while the younger continued to ride away.

The 18-year-old was later admitted to a hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Authorities reported no additional injuries from the incident. As of now, the shooters remain unidentified, and no video or photographic evidence are aiding the investigation.
