Man Found Shot To Death on D.C. Roadway

WASHINGTON, DC – Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in Southeast Washington.

At approximately 1:41 a.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting in the 3900 block of 1st Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they found a man in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The D.C. Metro Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
