Suspect Arrested in Deadly Philadelphia Hit and Run Crash

PHILADELPHIA, PA – An auto-pedestrian crash in the 24th District at Frankford and Allegheny resulted in a fatality on Wednesday evening. At approximately 7:04 PM, a black 2012 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on 2000 Allegheny struck a pedestrian standing on the sidewalk at the southeast corner.

Medic 45 arrived on the scene and pronounced the male victim at 7:15 PM. The victim was identified as 38-year-old Christopher Cabrera from Kensington Avenue.

An arrest warrant was issued for 41-year-old Christopher Sorensen of Bensalem, PA, for his involvement in the incident. Sorensen was apprehended this afternoon on the 600 block of East Indiana Avenue.

Sorensen faces charges including Homicide by Vehicle, Accident-Death-No License, Reckless Driving, and other related offenses.
