Bowie Mechanic Wins $250K on Scratch-Off

by Local News Report

ROCKVILLE, MD – A Bowie mechanic turned a $65 win from two scratch-offs into a $250,000 jackpot after purchasing a Jumbo Cash ticket. The Maryland resident, a dedicated scratch-off player, hit the jackpot last week while on his way to work.

After winning $50 and $15 on two instant tickets, the Prince George’s County man decided to reinvest his winnings at the Liberty gas station located at 1298 East Gude Drive in Rockville. There, he bought seven more games, including three $10 Jumbo Cash scratch-offs, one $20 instant ticket, and three $5 scratch-offs. The last ticket he scratched was the $250,000 top-prize winner.

Overwhelmed with excitement, he texted his wife about the win but kept the news under wraps. He hid the winning ticket under his car seat and checked it multiple times throughout his workday. The couple plans to use the prize money for home renovations and to pay down a college student loan.
