Man Fatally Shot by Police in Southwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – A man was fatally shot by police officers Monday night in southwest Baltimore, according to authorities. Baltimore Police Commissioner Rich Worley reported that officers were patrolling North Stricker Street and West Baltimore Street around 9:15 p.m. when they encountered a man believed to be armed. The man fled as officers approached him.

Additional officers arrived and engaged the suspect, ultimately shooting him. The officers immediately rendered aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Commissioner Worley stated that it is believed three officers discharged their weapons, and a gun was recovered from the scene.

The identity of the man has not yet been released, and no further information is available at this time.
