Search for necklace snatcher aboard Brooklyn Q train

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police are searching for a man who forcibly removed three chains from a woman’s neck on the northbound “Q” train at the Atlantic Avenue station on Friday, August 30, 2024.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m., when a 28-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified individual. The man grabbed the chains and fled the station on foot, boarding a northbound “3” train. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium build, last seen wearing glasses, a blue surgical mask, a gray sweater, gray pants, and carrying a backpack.
