Chicago police seek vehicle in serious hit-and-run crash

CHICAGO — Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist with severe injuries early Saturday morning in the city’s Southwest Side. The incident occurred around 3:11 a.m. near the intersection of 39th Street and Cicero Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department.

A brown 2017 Chevrolet, traveling southbound on Cicero Avenue, struck the cyclist and then fled the scene without stopping to offer aid or exchange information, police said. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.

An Illinois license plate, #EQ47678, was found at the scene of the crash, officials reported. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on I-55 near Kedzie Avenue minutes after the incident. It is believed to have front-end damage from the collision.

Authorities are asking the public for assistance in locating the vehicle or identifying its driver. The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
