West Stockbridge woman arraigned in fatal hit-and-run case

by Breaking Local News Report

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Samantha C. Paige, 36, of West Stockbridge, was arraigned on Tuesday, October 1, in Southern Berkshire District Court in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on September 28 in Stockbridge. Paige was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury resulting in death following the crash that claimed the life of 72-year-old Franklin Ripley of Stockbridge.

Stockbridge Police arrested Paige on the morning of October 1. Judge McKenna set her bail at $7,500, but Paige is currently being held without the right to bail due to an unrelated probation warrant issued by Central Berkshire District Court.

The investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing, with Stockbridge Police, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section all involved. Authorities have indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation progresses.
