Jersey City, NJ – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, in collaboration with the Jersey City Police Department, is investigating a fatal shooting in Jersey City. The incident occurred on Friday, October 11.
Officers were alerted to shots fired near Garfield Avenue and Brown Place shortly before 5 p.m. The victim, Kashyne Grant, aged 19, was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body and transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just after 10 a.m. on Monday, October 14.
Investigations by law enforcement are ongoing. The cause and manner of death are pending results from the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
