Double Shooting on Savannah Terrace leaves one dead, one injured in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A night of gunfire on Savannah Terrace in Southeast Washington left one man dead and another injured, sparking a homicide investigation in the area.

The incident occurred on Sunday, November 3, 2024, just before 10 p.m. Residents reported the sounds of gunshots in the 2100 block of Savannah Terrace, SE. Responding officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds; he was conscious and breathing and was quickly transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As police continued to search the area, a second shooting victim was located nearby. The man, later identified as 25-year-old Lorenzo Campbell Jr. of Fort Washington, Maryland, was also transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Residents are urged to come forward with any information that could aid the case.
