Ohio Lottery player strikes it rich with $2 million scratch-off

MENTOR, Ohio — An Ohio Lottery player hit paydirt with a $2 million win on the Mining for Millions scratch-off game. The lucky ticket was purchased at Avenue Beverage on Mentor Avenue, according to lottery officials.

The winner opted for the cash payout, receiving $1 million upfront. After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings of 28%, they will take home approximately $720,000.

Mining for Millions, a $20 scratch-off, offers a top prize of $80,000 per year for 25 years, with one top prize remaining as of Nov. 4. The big win has brought a rush of excitement for the popular scratch-off game.
