Salisbury shed fire causes $10,000 in damages, no injuries reported

SALISBURY, Md. — A fire destroyed a 9-by-20-foot wood-framed shed on Church Street in Salisbury Sunday afternoon, causing an estimated $10,000 in damages, officials said.

The Salisbury Fire Department responded to the blaze at 810 Church Street at approximately 4:34 p.m. Twenty firefighters arrived on scene and brought the fire under control within 10 minutes. No injuries were reported, according to officials.

The shed, owned by A. Wikoff, was not equipped with smoke alarms, fire alarms, or sprinklers. The fire was discovered by a neighbor, and its origin has been determined to be inside the shed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Office of the State Fire Marshal is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact its Salisbury office at 410-713-3780.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire that destroyed the structure.
