VANDERGRIFT, Pa. — A Vandergrift man has been sentenced to 12 to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges for firing more than a dozen bullets into three occupied homes in 2021.
Javon Lambert, 25, was charged in April 2021 following the shooting, which occurred in March of that year on Jefferson Avenue. Investigators said Lambert targeted one residence after making threats toward a family member of one of the victims. Bullets struck the front door, shattered a window, and penetrated a bedroom wall where a family was reportedly staying.
Two neighboring homes also sustained gunfire damage, though no injuries were reported. District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli emphasized the severity of the crime, which endangered multiple lives.
“Remarkably, no one was injured,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement. “This sentence reflects the seriousness of the reckless actions that jeopardized innocent lives.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Anthony Iannamorelli, with support from Vandergrift Police and Westmoreland County Detectives. Lambert’s sentencing underscores the county’s commitment to pursuing justice in cases involving gun violence.
