MAYS LANDING, N.J. — The Township of Hamilton Police Department has partnered with Stockton University’s Criminal Justice Department to launch a community survey aimed at gathering resident feedback on local policing efforts, officials announced this week.
Police Sergeant Clayton and Stockton University criminal justice students met with residents of The Fairways development to discuss the initiative, which they described as a unique outreach program designed to enhance communication between the department and the community it serves.
The survey, created in collaboration with the university, seeks to collect input on residents’ experiences and expectations regarding police services in the township, according to a department statement posted on social media.
“Your response is essential in allowing us to better understand what our residents are both experiencing and expecting from our department,” the statement read.
Residents are encouraged to complete the survey online, which officials estimate will take about ten minutes to fill out, in hopes of shaping future policing strategies in the township.
The Township of Hamilton Police Department and Stockton University hope the program will provide actionable insights for better aligning law enforcement efforts with community needs.
