Police say Toms River man had crack and heroin during traffic stop in Wall

A traffic stop in Wall Township ends in the arrest of a Toms River man for possession of heroin and crack cocaine.

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A Toms River man was arrested Monday after a traffic stop on State Highway 138 led to the discovery of heroin, crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Detective Ty Hughes of the Wall Township Police Department stopped the vehicle on December 2, 2024, and identified the driver as 46-year-old Todd Taggart. During the stop, officers found illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia in Taggart’s possession.

Taggart was arrested, processed, and released with a summons to appear in court.

The Wall Township Police Department has not provided additional details regarding the circumstances of the stop.
