Off-duty NYPD school safety agent arrested in Brooklyn on assault charges

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Police Department school safety agent was arrested Monday night in Brooklyn on assault and menacing charges, authorities said.

The NYPD identified the employee as 44-year-old Aileen Campuzano, a school safety agent with the department.

Campuzano was taken into custody at approximately 10:09 p.m. within the confines of the 60th Precinct.

She has been charged with assault in the third degree and menacing in the third degree.

The circumstances leading to the arrest have not been disclosed, and the NYPD stated that the investigation is ongoing.
