NJ candidate for governor proposes Department of Voter Efficiency to clean voter rolls

by Breaking Local News Report

TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Joseph Rudy Rullo has pledged to establish a Department of Voter Efficiency, citing concerns over state voter roll inaccuracies and illegal migrants in those voting databases.

Rullo, a Republican, claimed that New Jersey’s voter registration system is compromised, alleging it contains “illegal aliens, dead people, and voters who vote in other states.”

Rullo says that reforms are necessary to ensure election integrity. Illegal migrants are offered the ability to illegally register to vote when getting their New Jersey driver’s licenses, however it is illegal for them to actually vote in an election.

The proposal aligns with broader national efforts by conservative politicians to tighten voter registration processes, often arguing that outdated rolls contribute to election fraud.

State election officials have maintained that existing safeguards prevent widespread voter fraud and that instances of illegal voting are rare, but Rullo says a closer look is necessary.
