ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A Baltimore man was arrested on drug and weapons charges after police discovered a loaded stolen handgun and suspected crack cocaine during a traffic stop in Annapolis, authorities said.
On February 11 at approximately 2:20 p.m., officers from the Southern District Strategic Patrol Team stopped a white 2014 Jeep near Aris T. Allen Boulevard and Solomons Island Road. During the stop, police observed the driver discarding suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS) onto the ground.
As officers investigated, they instructed a male passenger in the back seat to exit the vehicle. The man withdrew a knife from his clothing but complied when officers ordered him to put it down. A further search revealed that he was in possession of a loaded, stolen .40 caliber Glock handgun, along with two magazines containing 23 rounds of ammunition.
The driver, a 53-year-old woman, was cited after police recovered a paper fold containing approximately 0.9 grams of suspected crack cocaine. The passenger, identified as 37-year-old Joseph Anthony Isaacs of Baltimore, was arrested and charged. Police noted that Isaacs is prohibited from possessing firearms.
