HOUSTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), alongside federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, arrested 646 undocumented individuals—including 543 criminal aliens and seven documented gang members—during a week-long operation aimed at strengthening public safety and border security.
The enforcement operation, conducted from Feb. 23 to March 2 in the Houston area, resulted in 71 criminal arrest warrants being executed. Among those arrested, 140 had been charged or convicted of violent offenses such as homicide, aggravated assault, or domestic violence. Other arrests included 34 individuals charged or convicted of sex crimes, 38 convicted of illegal firearms offenses, and 52 linked to drug trafficking or narcotics possession.
“ICE and our law enforcement partners in Southeast Texas have banded together to remove these dangerous criminal aliens from our local communities,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director Bret Bradford.
The operation also led to the arrests of human smugglers, traffickers, and individuals involved in organized crime, reinforcing efforts to combat transnational criminal organizations in the region.
