Gunfire erupts in Northwest DC, suspect arrested hours later

WASHINGTON, DC – A man has been arrested in connection with a Saturday afternoon shooting in Northwest Washington that left one person injured.

At approximately 2:04 p.m. on March 15, officers responded to the 1200 block of Madison Street and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was conscious and transported to a hospital for treatment.

The following day, detectives identified and arrested 26-year-old Kavon Phillips of Northwest, charging him with multiple offenses, including assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
