Migrant Held on ICE Detainer in Toms River After Assault Charge

by Breaking Local News Report

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A man arrested in Ocean County is being held without bail on charges of harassment and attempted assault, according to jail records released Thursday. He also has an active ICE detainer.

The details of his assault charge were not made public at this time.

Jonathan Valenzo was booked into the Ocean County jail on Wednesday and is facing two charges including creating an “inconvenient annoyance” and attempting to cause bodily injury to another person.

The charges filed against him—graded as disorderly persons offenses—are classified as fourth-degree crimes in New Jersey. However, he could be held per the ICE detainer. It is unclear whether or not he will be released after his pre-trial hearing.
