Poughkeepsie man arrested for selling cocaine and fentanyl following yearlong drug probe

A shotgun and suspected fentanyl dealer were seized after undercover drug buys in Poughkeepsie led to a swift SWAT raid.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A resident of High View Estates in the Town of Poughkeepsie was arrested Wednesday after a yearlong investigation linked him to the sale of cocaine and fentanyl, authorities said.

Luke M. Grady, 41, was taken into custody without incident when the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit executed a search warrant at his residence at 26 Cooper Road. Grady was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony.

Investigators said the arrest followed numerous complaints from residents regarding drug activity at High View Estates. Over the course of the probe, Drug Task Force agents conducted multiple controlled purchases of narcotics from Grady in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

During the raid, authorities also recovered a sawed-off pistol grip shotgun from inside Grady’s residence. Officials said additional charges related to the weapon and drug sales are expected to be presented to a grand jury.

Following his arrest, Grady was processed by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and held at the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department. He was arraigned and released, as required under New York State law.
