BRIDGETON, NJ — A former school custodian who admitted to contaminating food with bodily fluids and chemicals at a New Jersey school was sentenced Friday to eight years in state prison, prosecutors announced.

Giovanni Impellizzeri, 25, of Vineland, pleaded guilty to second-degree official misconduct and third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). He must serve at least five years before becoming eligible for parole, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

Impellizzeri was arrested following a New Jersey State Police investigation into videos he recorded of himself while employed at the Upper Deerfield School District. In the footage, he was seen placing bodily fluids and cleaning agents into food intended for staff and students. He also recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with cafeteria utensils and other items, according to prosecutors.

Impellizzeri shared the videos in an online chat group. Detectives later found he was also in possession of CSAM, resulting in additional charges filed on November 8, 2023, for possession and distribution.

On January 13, 2025, he entered a guilty plea. The sentence imposed by Judge Cristen P. D’Arrigo includes a three-year term for the CSAM offense to be served consecutively with the five-year minimum on the misconduct charge.

Impellizzeri will be placed under parole supervision for life upon his release.

“Impellizzeri shared the videos to an online chat group,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement Friday.
