Suffolk police join Take Back the Night event to support domestic violence survivors

BRENTWOOD, NY — Suffolk County Police officers attended the annual Take Back the Night event at Suffolk County Community College on Thursday to support survivors of domestic violence and raise awareness.

The event featured symbolic gestures like crochet butterflies, given to survivors as a sign of healing and empowerment. Officers from the Community Relations Bureau, Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse Section, Human Trafficking Investigation Unit, and the Third Precinct participated in the event.
