Fort Washington, MD — A Charles County man who stopped to play Racetrax walked away with a $75,000 win instead — all thanks to a FAST PLAY ticket from THE GAME OF LIFE, Maryland Lottery officials announced Wednesday.

The Indian Head resident, who chose to go by the alias Dark Knight due to a fond childhood memory, bought four FAST PLAY tickets while at Urban Market on Allentown Road in Fort Washington. He was in the process of filling out a Racetrax playslip when he noticed one of his FAST PLAY tickets showed a match to the winning number 7.

He saw that he matched the 7 to the winning numbers but didn’t pay close attention to the prize. Then he looked again and realized it was $75,000.

Key points:

  • Charles County man wins $75,000 on FAST PLAY THE GAME OF LIFE ticket
  • Ticket purchased at Urban Market, 9502 Allentown Road, Fort Washington
  • Prize will go toward a vacation and property purchase

Lottery app confirms life-changing win

Still skeptical, the automotive industry employee used the Maryland Lottery app to verify his prize. Despite receiving the Congratulations message, he admitted he was still in disbelief and even shook his phone before scanning a second time.

After confirming the win, he shared the news with the store owners and called his wife. He kept the ticket safely tucked in his wallet until he officially claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters on April 29.

Retailer gets bonus as top prizes remain

Urban Market, the Prince George’s County location where the ticket was sold, will receive a $750 bonus for selling the top-tier winning ticket.

THE GAME OF LIFE FAST PLAY game launched on July 1, 2024, and still has eight out of ten top prizes available, along with other cash prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
