A woman suffered a graze wound after being shot during an argument over a cigarette purchase in Glen Burnie on Saturday afternoon, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

Officers responded to the 7800 block of Americana Circle at approximately 4:05 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a 25-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening graze wound to her upper body. She declined medical treatment at the scene.

Police said the altercation began when the victim attempted to buy cigarettes from the suspect but did not have enough money to complete the transaction. A verbal dispute escalated, and the suspect retrieved a handgun from his nearby apartment.

According to investigators, the suspect then returned outside and fired multiple rounds in the victim’s direction, striking her once. The suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting, and a search by officers was unsuccessful.
