A traffic stop in Millersville on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a driver found in possession of two loaded firearms, including a semi-automatic handgun and a drum-loaded Uzi-style weapon, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., an officer pulled over a blue Ford F-150 on Veterans Highway near Benfield Road. During the course of the stop, a search of the vehicle revealed a loaded .40 caliber Springfield handgun with 15 rounds and a .22 caliber Carl Walther Uzi with a drum magazine containing 11 rounds.
The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken into custody at the scene. Police confirmed the individual was charged with weapons offenses and the firearms were seized as evidence.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the initial traffic stop or whether the suspect has any prior criminal history. Authorities have not confirmed if the weapons were legally owned or registered.

Officials have not stated whether the Uzi-style weapon had been modified or if it meets the legal definition of a prohibited firearm under Maryland law. The seized weapons are being processed by the department’s evidence unit.
No injuries or additional arrests were reported in connection with the stop. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
