Investigation continues as officials release surveillance footage
The Third District, where the incident took place, has seen an uptick in nighttime shootings in recent months. However, police have not confirmed whether Saturday’s shooting is connected to other cases.
Authorities are relying on community assistance to help identify the individuals seen in the footage. The suspects appear to have exited or been near a vehicle shortly before the gunfire was reported. The make and model of the vehicle have not yet been disclosed.
The 2500 block of Ontario Road is a residential stretch near several restaurants and businesses, often active during weekend evenings. The area was briefly closed off for investigation following the shooting.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday. The case remains open and under review by detectives from the department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
