FREEPORT, NY — A top-prize TAKE 5 ticket worth $19,069 was sold in Nassau County for the May 8 midday drawing, the New York Lottery announced.

The winning ticket was purchased at CAO’S Wine & Liquor, located at 62 North Main Street in Freeport. The TAKE 5 game draws five numbers from a field of 1 through 39 and is held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

This latest win continues a streak of TAKE 5 prizes across Long Island and other parts of New York, where daily drawings offer players a consistent chance to win significant cash rewards.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. The identity of the winning player has not been disclosed, and the ticket remains unclaimed as of Friday.

Retailer earns recognition as TAKE 5 continues to deliver

CAO’S Wine & Liquor joins a growing list of retailers across the state that have sold top-prize TAKE 5 tickets. While the store receives recognition, official Lottery rules also provide eligible bonuses to retailers for selling winning tickets.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery in North America, generating $3.8 billion in support of public education in New York during the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
