Critical alert issued after DC teen girl vanishes

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A citywide search is underway for 14-year-old Wynter Lee, who was last seen Saturday morning in Southeast D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Lee was reported missing from the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place, SE, where she was last seen around 8:00 a.m. on May 17. Authorities issued a critical missing person alert and are seeking the public’s help in locating her.

She is described as a Black female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with a medium complexion. Lee has black hair in long braids and brown eyes. Police said her clothing description is unknown.

The case is being handled by MPD’s Youth and Family Engagement Division, and anyone with information is urged to contact investigators or provide anonymous tips through the city’s tip line.

Flyers have circulated through local communities and on social media as efforts continue to locate the missing teen.
