Man charged after alleged assault during DC massage

Massage therapist arrested for first-degree sexual abuse in Southwest DC case

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Maryland man has been arrested nearly a year after allegedly engaging in unwanted sexual acts while performing massage therapy services in Southwest Washington, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. in the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue SW. Police say the suspect was providing massage services to the victim when the assault occurred.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 42-year-old Andrew Ramirez of Jefferson, Maryland, was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant and charged with First-Degree Sexual Abuse of a Client.

The case is being investigated by the department’s Sexual Assault Unit. The arrest follows a lengthy investigation into the incident, which was reported under CCN: 23106647.
