Whitehall man charged after firing gun in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A Whitehall man is facing multiple charges after allegedly firing a gun at another individual during a reported shooting last month in Allentown, according to city police.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 28, at approximately 2:51 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 600 block of Walnut Street. Upon arrival, police found a victim who said a man had fired a weapon in his direction. No injuries were reported.

Following an investigation, officers identified the suspect as 24-year-old Angel Guadalupe of Whitehall, Pa. The Allentown Police Department announced his arrest in a media release issued on Friday.

Guadalupe is charged with four offenses: person not to possess firearms, carrying a firearm without a license, recklessly endangering another person, and disorderly conduct. Police have not confirmed whether the firearm used was recovered or what motivated the incident.

Charges filed as investigation continues

The Allentown Police Department stated that the charges are part of an active investigation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

“There will be no further comment at this time regarding this investigation,” the release read.

The incident took place in a residential area but did not result in physical injuries, police said. Authorities emphasized the serious risks involved when firearms are discharged in public areas, regardless of the outcome.

Investigators have not indicated if additional individuals are being sought or if further charges are expected in the case.
