Teen killed in Bethlehem Township pedestrian crash near schools

Bethlehem Township Police have not confirmed if any charges are expected or if impairment or speed were factors.

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 17-year-old male was killed early Sunday morning after a pedestrian crash involving multiple teenagers and two vehicles in the 3000 block of Chester Road, according to Bethlehem Township Police.

The incident occurred around 1:28 a.m. in an area near Freedom High School and East Hills Middle School. Police said the teen collided with a parked vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bethlehem Township EMS and the Northampton County Coroner’s Office responded to assist. The identity of the teen has not yet been released, pending family notification.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek and his office are leading the investigation into the cause of death. No information has been provided on what led to the collision or whether other individuals were injured.
