Baltimore patrol officer hears shots finds man dying in street

Man gunned down on Cherry Hill Road in broad daylight shooting

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 42-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday morning in South Baltimore after a patrol officer heard gunfire while conducting business checks along Cherry Hill Road.

The shooting occurred around 9:59 a.m. on May 31 in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road. The officer responding to the gunfire discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The identity of the victim has not been released, and no suspect information has been made public.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are continuing to gather evidence and pursue leads.
