Two Pennsylvania Lottery players to split $2.3 million Cash 5 jackpot

by Local News Report

MIDDLETOWN, PA — Two winning tickets sold in Butler and Erie counties will share a Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 with Quick Cash jackpot worth $2,325,690, officials announced Tuesday.

Each ticket matched all five numbers drawn — 4, 7, 17, 27, 36 — in the Monday drawing, awarding each winner $1,162,845 before taxes. The winning tickets were purchased at a 7-Eleven on Glen Eden Road in Cranberry Township and a Giant Eagle on West 12th Street in Millcreek Township.

Both retailers will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning tickets. Winners have not yet come forward to claim the prizes, which must be validated before they are officially confirmed.

Lottery officials remind players that Cash 5 prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date. Quick Cash game prizes must be claimed within one year of the purchase date. The Lottery encourages anyone holding a winning ticket to contact a Lottery office or call 1-800-692-7481.

More than 44,700 other tickets also won prizes in the June 9 drawing, ranging from smaller Cash 5 matches to instant Quick Cash prizes.

Record draw sends Cash 5 prize pool soaring

Cash 5 with Quick Cash players choose five numbers from 1 to 43 or may opt for computer-generated picks. To win the jackpot, all five numbers must match. Every $2 play includes an entry into the evening drawing and a separate Quick Cash instant game.

The odds of winning the Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598. Overall chances of winning a prize in the Cash 5 main draw are approximately 1 in 10.5. The Quick Cash game offers separate odds of 1 in 4.71 to win an instant $2 or $6 prize.

Lottery officials continue to urge players to check every ticket and to claim lower-tier prizes at retailers as soon as possible.

The identities of the two jackpot winners will be released only after the tickets are validated and claimed.
