WENATCHEE, Wash. — Local and federal authorities continue an extensive search for Travis Decker, the suspect in a triple homicide involving the deaths of three children, as the investigation led by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office enters its third week.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), working alongside the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), the Washington Army National Guard (WA ANG), and the U.S. Marshals Service, has deployed personnel across rural and backcountry regions of Chelan and Kittitas counties. Investigators remain focused on processing evidence and reviewing lab results while aerial and ground teams scour the area for signs of Decker.
“CCSO Detectives are further developing the criminal case, conducting follow-up interviews, processing evidence, and reviewing data and analysis from evidentiary items sent to the crime lab for processing,” the agency stated in a public update Tuesday afternoon.
KCSO has contributed air and ground units experienced in forest terrain searches, while the WA ANG continues to support the mission with air surveillance and transportation of search personnel into remote regions. The CCSO Air Support Unit and Search and Rescue teams also remain active, providing aerial oversight and field expertise.
Decker still at large, public urged to report sightings
The U.S. Marshals Service has assumed the lead role in the manhunt for Decker, conducting targeted interviews and assessments while deploying specialized teams. While Decker remains at large, law enforcement officials have stated there is no current indication of a broader threat to public safety, including in outdoor recreation areas.
Despite circulating misinformation, authorities confirmed that a TikTok video claiming Decker was in custody is false. “Mr. Decker is not in custody and CCSO had no part in making the video,” the agency clarified.

As search operations continue, CCSO commended its patrol teams and dispatch center RIVERCOM for maintaining daily law enforcement services during what officials described as a resource-intensive and emotionally taxing investigation.
