ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 27-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly slashing a woman in the head with a cutting instrument following a vehicle crash and disturbance Friday night in Allentown.
Police responded to the 100 block of West Turner Street around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle accident. On arrival, officers were directed to a nearby residence where they located an adult female victim with a slash wound to her head. First aid was provided, and she was transported to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
According to the victim and a witness, the incident began when the male driver of a sedan struck a parked car and attempted to flee the scene. When confronted, a verbal dispute broke out. As the victim and witness retreated into a residence, the suspect allegedly followed the woman inside and assaulted her.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Francisco Santiago of Willow Grove, Pa., was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Police say he was found to be under the influence at the time of arrest.
Multiple felony charges filed
Santiago has been charged with first-degree felony burglary, two counts of second-degree felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor possession of instruments of a crime, and DUI.
The investigation remains active. Authorities have not released further details about the weapon used or Santiago’s motive.
