Morning shooting in the Bronx leaves one injured

Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man on Boston Road and fled the scene on foot.

BRONX, N.Y. — A 41-year-old man was shot in the torso late Monday morning in the Bronx, and police are searching for the unidentified gunman.

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. in front of 3320 Boston Road, according to the NYPD. Authorities said an unidentified individual discharged a firearm, striking the victim once in the torso before fleeing the scene.

Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the injured man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi. Police said he was listed in stable condition as of Monday afternoon.

The suspect fled northbound on Boston Road on foot. Officers from the 47th Precinct are investigating and canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance video.

Shooter remains at large in Bronx incident

Police have not released a description of the suspect, and no arrests have been made.

The motive behind the shooting is currently unknown, and investigators have not indicated whether the victim and suspect knew each other.

The area surrounding the crime scene was briefly closed as officers secured evidence and interviewed bystanders.
