Montgomery County police searching for missing Gaithersburg man, 78

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 78-year-old man who went missing Friday morning from the 7900 block of Brenish Drive.

William Heyward was last seen wearing a burgundy polo shirt, jeans, and possibly carrying a black and white blanket, according to investigators.

Heyward is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown eyes and salt-and-pepper hair.

Montgomery Cops Issue Alert for Missing Elderly Man

He was last spotted on Friday morning in Gaithersburg and has not been located as of Friday afternoon.

Public asked for information

Anyone with details on Heyward’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Montgomery County Police Non-Emergency line at (301) 279-8000, which operates 24 hours a day.

Officers have not indicated whether Heyward may be in need of medical attention.

Search efforts remain active in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Authorities said no further details on possible sightings have been confirmed.
