250 Cases of Illegal Fireworks Seized from Smokes R Us

MASTIC, NY – Police thwarted a possibly explosive situation on Long Island this weekend after busting a local smoke shop for trying to sell more than 250 cases of illegal fireworks.

“Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers responded to Smokes R Us, located at 194 Poospatuck Lane, in Mastic where they found 250 cases of illegal fireworks for sale, valued at more than $100,000. The shop’s owner and manager were arrested and charged with Illegal Storage of Explosives and Unlawfully Dealing with Fireworks and Dangerous Fireworks,” police said.

The fireworks were stored in the shop located behind the Fast Gas station.
