WOODBRIDGE, VA — A woman was taken to the hospital Monday evening after being shot in a residential neighborhood of Woodbridge, according to Prince William County police.

Officers responded to the 13100 block of Tazanari Way shortly after 7:30 p.m., where they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Police indicated that the victim and suspect were known to each other, though the motive behind the shooting has not been released.
