Two men killed, child among injured in West Hunting Park shooting

PHILADELPHIA — Two men were killed and a seven-year-old girl was injured during a shooting Saturday evening on the 1900 block of West Hunting Park Avenue, police said.

Officers from the 39th District responded to the scene at approximately 8:22 p.m. and found two adult male victims with gunshot wounds to the head. A 26-year-old man was located unresponsive on the highway and transported by police to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:37 p.m.

A second victim, a 29-year-old man, was found unresponsive on a nearby porch. He was also taken to Temple University Hospital and later pronounced dead at 10:44 p.m.

Two other victims, a 26-year-old woman and her seven-year-old daughter, were driven to Einstein Medical Center by private vehicle. The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the left arm and is in stable condition.

Her daughter sustained a graze wound to the scalp and was transferred to Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she is also in stable condition.

Police have not announced any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
