Reisterstown Road shooting claims one life and injures 7-year-old
BALTIMORE, MD – Gunfire erupted Saturday evening on a busy stretch of Reisterstown Road, leaving one man dead and a 7-year-old boy injured in a shooting that is now under active investigation by homicide detectives.
Just after 5:20 p.m., Northern District officers responded to the 3200 block of Reisterstown Road following a ShotSpotter alert. When they arrived, they found two gunshot victims—an unidentified adult male and a young child—lying wounded at the scene.
Both victims were rushed to nearby hospitals. The man was later pronounced dead by medical personnel, while the child’s injuries were described as non-life threatening. Officials have not released the identities of either victim, and the relationship between them is not yet known.
Detectives from the Baltimore Police Department’s Homicide Unit have taken over the investigation. No suspects have been named, and authorities have not provided details about a possible motive or whether the victims were targeted.
