Lottery winner gives up Ravens shopping spree to surprise Kennedy Krieger superfan

BALTIMORE, MD – A Maryland Lottery prize meant for one football fan turned into an unforgettable gift for another when a Ravens-themed shopping spree was donated to a longtime patient of the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Douglas Godesky, a former Maryland resident now living in New Hampshire, won a Ravens Second-Chance Promotion prize that included 2025 season tickets, a parking pass for home games, and a $500 shopping spree at the new Ravens Flock Shop at M&T Bank Stadium. But instead of cashing in the reward himself, Godesky and his wife decided to donate the experience to a family with deeper Baltimore ties.

With help from the Maryland Lottery and Kennedy Krieger Institute, the Godeskys selected 36-year-old Kevin DiLegge of Dundalk as the recipient. Kevin, a lifelong Ravens fan who began receiving care at Kennedy Krieger as an infant, arrived at the stadium with his mother Mary and brother Andrew to pick out his dream haul of Ravens gear.

Among his selections: a custom Tyler Linderbaum jersey, a Ravens letterman jacket, and a stuffed Poe mascot. Kevin beamed throughout the visit, thanking everyone who helped make the moment happen.

The giveaway is part of a long-running partnership between the Maryland Lottery and the Baltimore Ravens. This marks the 17th consecutive year of Ravens-themed scratch-offs and second-chance promotions, which continue through January 5.

Three additional winners of the shopping spree and 2025 season tickets — Kandis Davis of Upper Marlboro, Brandon Mazzaferro of Essex, and Lester Thomas of Middle River — are set to enjoy their prize experience on Tuesday.
