Powerball ticket worth $50K sold in Reisterstown as jackpot climbs to $775 million
REISTERSTOWN, MD — One lucky Powerball player is $50,000 richer today after matching four white balls and the red Powerball in the December 1 drawing — just one number shy of winning the multimillion-dollar jackpot.
The ticket was sold at the Shell gas station located at 30 Main Street in Reisterstown. The winning numbers drawn were 5, 18, 26, 47, 59, and the red Powerball 1. The Reisterstown ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball, securing a $50,000 third-tier prize.
There were no jackpot winners nationwide in the December 1 draw, though second-tier $1 million prizes were claimed in California, Georgia, and Illinois. With no top prize winner, the Powerball jackpot has rolled to an estimated $775 million for the next drawing on December 3. The cash option is estimated at $362.5 million.
Maryland Lottery officials reported that 17,502 players across the state won prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000 in the December 1 draw alone.
The Reisterstown winner joins a growing list of unclaimed high-value Powerball tickets in Maryland. Eight other prizes of $50,000 or more remain unclaimed, including a $1 million ticket sold in Clinton in September.
