Oakland man charged after public lewdness investigation in Bergen County

OAKLAND, NJ – A 68-year-old Oakland man has been charged after police concluded an investigation into a lewd act reported by a concerned citizen earlier this year.

According to authorities, the case began in September 2025 when a resident reported witnessing an adult male committing a lewd act in a publicly accessible outdoor area. Detective Steven Albert led the investigation, which resulted in the identification and arrest of the suspect.

The man was taken into custody, processed, and later released pending a court appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
