15 year old shot in east baltimore as afternoon gunfire erupts

Police say the wounded teenager was found on one block while investigators traced the shooting to another nearby street

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 15-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital after being shot in East Baltimore Saturday afternoon, prompting an investigation as detectives worked to determine who pulled the trigger.

Baltimore Police said Southeast District officers responded at approximately 4:46 p.m. to the 700 block of North Collington Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they located a 15-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said the teen’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

A preliminary investigation determined the shooting occurred in the 600 block of North Patterson Park Avenue before the victim was found on North Collington Avenue.

Investigators have not released information regarding a suspect or what may have led to the shooting.

Southeast District detectives are continuing to investigate.
