Washington, D.C. — An Amazon delivery driver was carjacked at gunpoint Sunday evening in Northwest DC, as two armed suspects forced him to surrender his keys and van in the middle of a delivery.
The incident occurred on December 1, shortly before 6 p.m., in the 2300 block of Tunlaw Road. According to police, the driver had parked the van and was heading to the back of the vehicle to retrieve packages when he heard footsteps behind him. He turned to find a gun pointed at his face, with one of the suspects demanding his keys.
A second armed suspect joined in, taking control of the van and demanding the driver’s Amazon vest before driving away. The second suspect followed behind the stolen van in a separate car, heading toward Wisconsin Avenue NW.
The Amazon van was recovered late Sunday night, but no details about the suspects have been released. Police are investigating possible connections to earlier robberies involving suspects in an Amazon Prime vest.
