Sunday morning shooting in Baltimore ends in swift arrest

BALTIMORE, MD — A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder following a shooting Sunday morning in Baltimore’s Northwest District.

Police say Charles Ward III shot a 23-year-old man inside a residence in the 3600 block of Bowers Avenue on December 1. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 9:29 a.m. after receiving reports of a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to his left thigh. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Ward was arrested at the scene without incident and was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. A handgun was recovered during the investigation.
